Chinese and Western perspectives
The applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the fields of communications, transport, robotics, medicine, economics, law and other sectors are raising new questions regarding the concept we have of ourselves, of our actions and our responsibilities according to philosophical, religious and secular traditions.

From April 3 to 5, 2019, a seminar was sponsored by the China Forum for Civilizational Dialogue was held to debate these issues at Santa Clara University (California.), The Forum was founded as the common commitment of La Civiltà Cattolica and Georgetown University, and the Pontifical Council for Culture.

The meeting brought together scholars from China, the United States and Europe, to examine how the great changes underway are posing challenges for the Christian and Confucian traditions, as well as for other religious and secular traditions.
