CHRISTIANS WHO BUILD ITALY
How can Christians contribute to a healthy democracy and a government that is truly representative of the people of Italy?
To address this question, an interesting debate has developed about the legacy of Don Sturzo on the anniversary of his appeal “to all the free and strong men” (1919).
To continue the reflection, Fr. Spadaro believes it is necessary to return to the V Conference of the Italian Church, which took place in Florence in November 2015: an important event, because it was synodal.
In fact, it is necessary to promote a broad involvement of the people of God, in a synodal process that is not restricted to the specialists of Catholic thought nor by particular educational contexts. It could help us to understand our historical moment today and to discern to be “builders of Italy.”
