THE TRUTHFUL AND SIMPLE LANGUAGE OF JESUS.

How it helps to discern deceptive speech.

During a Sunday Angelus last summer, while commenting on the parable of the sower, Pope Francis, proposed a brief reflection on Jesus’ simple, and straightforward language.

The Angelusgives us the opportunity to reflect on how to discern whether a speech comes from the «good spirit» and moves us to Jesus, or if it is animated by the «evil spirit», even when the pronouncer states that he wants to «tell the truth».

This is a risk that we may encounter even in some articles or content which are proposed by the media, when they use deceptive speech and simplistic language to attack the Pope and the Church. In order to learn this discernment, we are helped especially by the spiritual experience of St. Peter Favre.
